*Eligibility Note:

  • 1.
    This account may be opened and run with a minimum balance as follows: Account with cheque book / without cheque book:
    • Individual(s) ₹2000 / ₹1000
    • Non-individual ₹5000
    • Cheque book facility will be permitted accordingly.
  • 2.
    This account may be opened by a person on his/her own behalf or by more than one person with nomination facility payable to any of them or survivors or by guardian on behalf of minor with the stipulation that the deposit can be duly withdrawn by the latter on attaining majority or after some specified time after attaining majority.
  • 3.
    Account will not be opened by or on behalf of lunatics.
  • 4.
    Application to open savings account must be made in person, furnishing two passport size recent photographs, proof of address & photo ID as per KYC Guidelines.
  • 5.
    The person applying for opening account should furnish his/her PAN or GIR allotted by Income Tax Authority or duly filled in Form 60/61 prescribed under Income Tax Act (as applicable) along with account opening form.

*Features:

  • 6.
    Insurance cover for deposits ₹5.00 lakh per depositor w.e.f. 4-2-2020.
  • 7.
    Interest will be credited, provided the amount is at least ₹1/- half yearly.
  • 8.
    Cheques, dividend warrants drawn in favour of account holder(s) may be collected through this account.
  • 9.
    If the amount of a single cash withdrawal is to exceed ₹1.00 lakh, at least one day prior notice to the bank/branch should be given.
  • 10.
    Account holder will be provided with pass book which should be presented to the bank at regular intervals or at least once in a month for updation.
  • 11.
    The entries in pass book are computer printouts; they need no signature in authentication.
  • 12.
    Pass book will be issued free of charges at the time of opening an account and in continuation of the original, but if the pass book is lost or spoiled the bank reserves the discretion to charge a maximum of ₹100/- for duplicate pass book with fresh entries and ₹20/- per page up to one year. In case of duplicate pass book with old entries ₹50/- will be levied per page in addition to ₹100/- for duplicate pass book.
  • 13.
    All withdrawal slips must be accompanied by pass book.
  • 14.
    Basic Saving Bank deposit account as per RBI Circular.
  • 15.
    For societies internet banking "view only" facility is available.
  • 16.
    Interest at a rate, which may vary from time to time, will be calculated on daily actual clear closing balances in account for closing of half year. Interest earned will be credited half-yearly in March and September.

*Minimum Balance Requirement & Charges:

  • 17.
    Individual Saving Bank A/C with Cheque Facility
    • Minimum Balance ₹2000/-
    • Charges Leviable + GST (Max.) ₹150/-
  • 18.
    Societies Saving Bank A/C
    • Minimum Balance ₹5000/-
    • Charges Leviable + GST (Max.) ₹150/-
  • 19.
    Individual Saving Bank A/C without Cheque Book Facility
    • Minimum Balance ₹1000/-
    • Charges Leviable + GST (Max.) ₹150/-

If the minimum balance as prescribed is not maintained, shortage amount for minimum balance charges as follows would be levied on monthly basis.

*Charges & Penalties:

  • 20.
    If the account is closed within one year from the date of its opening, an incidental fee of ₹250/- + GST will be charged.
  • 21.
    Violation of any of these rules or unsatisfactory operations of the account will compel the bank to close the account after levying applicable service charge.
  • 22.
    Customer should take care to maintain sufficient balance while issuing cheques. If the cheque issued is frequently returned unpaid under the reason "Insufficient Balance", the cheque book facility will be withdrawn by the bank.
  • 23.
    Account holder should examine carefully the entries made in their pass book & draw the bank’s attention to any error or omission. The bank will not accept any responsibility for any error or omission out of his/her failure to carry out examination of entries and promptly bring them to the bank’s notice.
  • 24.
    The thumb impression of an illiterate account holder on the letter of authority should be attested by two persons known to the bank or by a Magistrate under his/her Court Seal.
  • 25.
    The bank reserves its rights to close the account if cheques drawn on the account are frequently returned for want of funds.
  • 26.
    The bank will register stop payment instructions received from the account holder in respect of cheques lost, stolen, etc., but cannot guarantee them against loss in event of such cheques being paid inadvertently.
  • 27.
    GST as applicable will be recovered with charges mentioned above.
  • 28.
    The clearing cheques shown in the pass book are subject to realisation.
  • 29.
    The bank reserves the right to alter or add to these Rules at any time without notice. Any person opening the account shall be bound by the Rules governing the account.

*Dormant / Inoperative Account Rules:

  • 30.
    If any account remains unoperated continuously for more than two years, such account will be treated as inoperative/dormant account.
